Drinks are substances that we consume, mostly in liquid form. The most important reason why we take drinks is to quench our taste and for our health. It is believed that people that most people will be dead by the 5th day if they don’t take water. However, there are many other reasons why people also drink including drinking sociably, for ritualistic reasons, for enjoyment, to get drunk, to escape problems and to increase power. Not every type of drink is healthy for people as a lot of poison come in liquid form. Here are some of the drinks that you can take that is good for your health.
Water
Water is the most important drink available in the world and it is possible to survive on drinking only water. However, water is an odourless, colourless and tasteless liquid without any calories. Hence, while it goes a long way to quench our thirst, it doesn’t add any nutritional benefit. The major reason why water is very important and why we will expire within a few days if we don’t drink water is because about 60 per cent of the adult human body is water. The lungs are about 83 per cent water, the kidneys are about 79 per cent water, the heart is about 73 per cent water, the skin is about 64 per cent water and the bones are about 31 per cent water.
